The western quarry is protected as the “Góra Zelejowa” Reserve.
A site of historic mining of vein calcite and the calcite-lime breccia known as “różanka zelejowska”. These rocks have been used since the 15th century as technical “marbles” valued by architects.
The rocky ridge of Góra Zelejowa is a valuable example of surface karst and a place where many valuable and protected species of xerothermic vegetation can be found.
