A training meeting for participants of the VR @ Geoparks project financed by the Erasmus + program was held in Geopark Madonie in Italy from 4 to 8 October.
During a very intense working week, representatives of the Świętokrzyski Geopark could find out how the geopark functions, which is part of the Global Geopark Network for 17 years
During the training, methods of promoting geological, living or cultural heritage were presented, which is very valuable to us in the context of the Świętokrzyski Geopark as a new area in the UNESCO Geoparks Network.
The participants of the meeting visited such cities and towns as: Petralia Sottana, Castelbuono, Polizzi Generosa, Pamelermo and Cefalù
Let us add that the area of the Świetokrzyski Geopark was promoted during the meeting, and the participants of the VR @ Geoparks project will visit Poland in May 2022.
We also hope that this visit will result in further joint projects. International cooperation is obligatory for UNESCO Geoparks and required by the Global Geoparks Network, it scores high in the context of the next evaluation of our area.
Let us also add that the result of the current project will be a multimedia application. Thanks to which it will be possible to virtually visit geoparks participating in the project using phones and tablets. The application itself will be ready in 2023.
