The former slit-type quarry is a remnant of the historical exploitation of vein calcite and the calcite-lime breccia called “różanka zelejowska.” These rocks have been used since the 15th century as technical “marbles” valued by architects.
Currently, Stokówka is a centre of rock climbing known all over Poland.
