The museum is located in the building at Świętego Leonarda 4. In 1908 the building housed the Museum of the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society. The Museum of the History of Kielce, established in 2008, continues the tradition of this institution. In the building you can see exhibits connected with almost a thousand years of Kielce’s history. The permanent exhibition has been divided into the following periods: “Kielce pre-location and in early medieval”, “Kielce – a private city of the bishops of Kraków from the 12th to the 18th century.”, “Voivodeship and provincial Kielce”, “Kielce on the road to independence”, “Kielce in the years of the Second Polish Republic”, “Kielce in the years of the Second World War” and “Kielce in the years after the war”.
