This small hill located near the primary school in Jaworznia in the Piekoszów commune is protected as the “Moczydło” nature reserve. It is one of the most important sites in the Geopark related to the former lead and silver mining. Numerous remnants of precious ore mining in the form of slit excavations, bings and mining shafts are accessible via a marked geotourist trail. Along the path, we can learn about the varied geological structure of the hill, which consists of Devonian limestones, Permian puddingstones and Triassic sandstones. A visit to the Moczydło nature reserve can be combined with a visit to the nearby “Chelosiowa Jama” nature reserve, located 1.5 km east of Moczydło.
