Informations:

The “Milechowy” nature reserve comprises wooded ravines and the towering ridges of the Bolmińska and Brodowa Mountains, which belong to the western part of the range called the Grząby Bolmińskie. The hills are made of light-coloured Jurassic limestones more than 160 million years old. In places, these limestones form picturesque walls and rocks, in which caves can be found, including the most famous of them, the Piekło cave, also known as Milechowskie Piekło. Milechowy, however, is first of all a forest reserve with valuable forest complexes, including a thermophilous oak forest and subcontinental oak-hornbeam forest. The tree stand is dominated by pine and oak, and the undergrowth contains i.a. hazel, buckthorn and hornbeam and oak. A number of protected plant species grow in the reserve, i.a. including dwarf cherry, mezereum, ivy, martagon lily, snowdrop anemone, lily of the valley, and sweetscented bedstraw. A black hiking trail from Małogoszcz leads directly to the reserve, and nearby there is a yellow trail named after Juliusz Braun trail – from Wierna Rzeka to Chęciny – and a blue trail named after Rev. Stanisław Konarski – from Jedlnica to Jędrzejów. There is also an educational path running through the reserve from the village of Milechowy.
